June 11, 2011 - 02:22 pm
A 58-year-old man died Saturday morning and five others were rescued from the waters near Ocean City when the boat they were riding in capsized, the Coast Guard says.
Officials say that a good Samaritan contacted authorities at about 9 a.m. to report that an 18-foot boat had capsized at the mouth of the Ocean City Inlet and that there were people overboard.
Two rescue boat crews recovered all six people and began performing CPR on one man before transporting him to EMS personnel.
He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation by Maryland State Police.
