Woman found dead in Springfield died of natural causes

A woman found dead in her Springfield home died of natural causes, Fairfax County police say.
The deceased woman was found at a residence in the 8400 block of Sugar Creek Lane in Springfield. Investigators spent hours inside the house Wednesday trying to determine how she died.
The deceased has been identified as Cherylanne Pierre, 47, of 8466 Sugar
Creek Lane in Springfield.
The cul-de-sac of townhomes swarmed with police searching for clues inside the house and from neighbors.
“They just asked us if we saw anything suspicious over the weekend. I know we saw some cops out here on Monday, that's about it,” neighbor Alfredo Morales said.
Fairfax police say they had checked on Pierre previously after getting a call. However, they didn't see anything that would warrant breaking down the door.
“I know that there was a some concern because she hadn't shown up for work,” said neighbor Jean Radassio.
Investigators didn’t detail how long it had been since anyone heard from Pierre, nor how long ago they believe she died. The woman's neighbors say she lived alone. They say a man had resided with her. He had moved out a while back, but apparently made an appearance last weekend, neighbors said.
