Brian Lee Maddox arrested in Wheaton bank robbery
A D.C. man was arrested Monday in connection with a bank robbery in Maryland, police say.
Montgomery County Police say that 29-year-old Brian Lee Maddox of Northwest Washington is being held without bond after being charged with robbery and first-degree assault.
Authorities say that Lee entered the M&T Bank branch in the 12000 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton and gave a teller a note demanding money.
Lee fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, police say. After reviewing video surveillance, police spotted Lee and took him into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
He faces a bond review hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
