Britain's Prince Edward to visit Baltimore
BALTIMORE (AP) - Britain's Prince Edward will be in Baltimore along with Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan.
Tuesday's visit is to announce the participation of Baltimore youths in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award-Young Americans' Challenge. The self-development program is designed to build confidence, motivation and self-worth in youths and young adults between the ages of 14 and 25.
Students participate in community service and activities focused on physical recreation and skills development.
Prince Edward plans to visit a school and the waterfront facilities of the Living Classrooms Foundation, a Baltimore nonprofit that teaches youth through hands-on education and job training. The foundation uses urban, natural and maritime resources as "living classrooms."
