Capitol Heights crash leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

An 18-year-old was killed when a car rear-ended a moped he was riding on, then fled the scene Tuesday morning on Central Avenue, a police source tells ABC7 News.
The victim, identified as Roberto Reyes, was pronounced dead at the scene, ABC7 reports.
A second passenger on board the scooter remains in serious condition at a local hospital.
Authorities say the hit-and-run occurred around 1:30 a.m. in Capitol Heights.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
A portion of northbound Central Avenue was closed for a few hours as police conducted an investigation.
No further details were immediately available.
