D.C. Heatwave: Lack of air conditioning forces closure of Rockville building
On the first official day of summer, a facility in Rockville is closing early due to a lack of air conditioning.
Tuesday’s first closure is Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services building at 1301 Piccard Drive in Rockville. The building has no air, but the Montgomery County Crisis Center, located on the first floor, will remain open for telephone and walk-in crisis service.
Other limited service will be available, but scheduled appointments for Income Supports services and the Housing Stabilization Programs are cancelled and new appointments will be scheduled.
Anyone with an appointment today for the Abused Persons Program, the Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program and other mental health services, call 240-777-4000 before arrival.
