D.C. Police arrest suspects in shooting, series of robberies
D.C. Police arrested suspects who they believe committed three armed robberies in a short period of time late last night in Northeast D.C. One victim in the first robbery was shot.
About 11:25 p.m. Sunday, units received a call for a shooting victim in the 5300 block of Chillum Place NE. An adult male was located suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He reported being robbed at gunpoint in the area along South Dakota Avenue NE.
Shortly thereafter, another armed robbery took place in the 5400 block of North Capitol St. by suspects fitting the description of the first incident. The victim was able to get the tag number of the vehicle used by the suspects.
A third robbery then took place in the Fifth District; the description matched the prior two robberies. Shortly after that, police spotted the suspects' vehicle and pursued it to the Fourth District near 8th & Upshur, NE. The suspects were arrested and a weapon was recovered.
The victim shot in the first robbery was taken to an area hospital for treatment with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
