D.C. police officers attacked near Gallery Place Metro

Two D.C. police officers were attacked in Chinatown on Saturday evening, a spokesperson tells ABC7.

One of the two injured officers was released from the hospital Sunday morning, while the other remains hospitalized after being attacked by a homeless man with a pipe.

The attack took place in the 600 block of H Street NW near the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station. Police say that they received a 911 call at about 5 p.m. reporting that the officers had been assaulted. Responding units were able to arrest the suspect.
