East Capitol Street exit closed on I-295 due to accident

WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities are working to remove a tractor-trailer hanging over an embankment in northeast Washington.

The off-ramp from Interstate 295 onto East Capitol Street in the River Terrace neighborhood was closed early Tuesday due to the accident.

Workers are currently trying to remove the large truck from the roadway.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
