Fighter jets intercept small plane near Camp David
June 11, 2011 - 06:18 pm
Two F-15 fighters were scrambled to and intercepted a small plane which flew within 11 miles of Camp David on Saturday.
NORAD says that the civilian aircraft, a Beechcraft Bonanza, was escorted out of the area and landed in Hagerstown without incident.
The plane was out of radio communication, officials say. The jets were scrambled from Jacksonville, Fla.
President Barack Obama and his family are spending at least one night at the retreat near Frederick this weekend.
