FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick police say three businesses took the bait when they sent out underage volunteers with a mission to try and buy booze.
Police conducted compliance checks at 20 stores on Saturday.
Three sold alcohol to minors: Old Farm Liquors on Old Farm Drive; Golden Mile Liquors on North McClain Drive; and Rosehill Service Station on Opossumtown Pike.
Police applied for criminal summonses for each person who sold the beverages. The clerks who sold the booze could face fines or jail time, and the businesses could face fines or the suspension of their licenses.
