Gas leak in Rockville cleared
June 15, 2011 - 12:12 pm
The propane leak that closed Route 355 near Gude Drive in Rockville, Md. is deemed safe.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Oscar Garcia says units were called to the 15200 Block of Frederick Road for a reported gas leak and found a truck with an approximately 300 gallon propane tank mounted on it in the Exxon parking lot.
Propane gas was reportedly leaking from one of the valves.
The closures and evacuations were a precautionary measure and firefighters haven’t picked up any gas readings on their meters.
