A D.C. man who had among the largest collections of child pornography ever discovered in the District was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years behind bars for distributing child porn.

Gustavo Chinchilla, 39, admitted to distributing 10 images of child pornography and possessing over 20,0000 photographs and 500 videos containing child pornography.

"Modern technology has allowed collectors of child pornography to amass and distribute a vast collection of disturbing images of children from their home computers," said U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen. "We will continue to fight for justice on behalf of these exploited children, who have suffered immensely at the hands of child pornographers."

Chinchilla previously pleaded guilty in federal court.

At the end of his sentence, Chinchilla will likely be deported because he is not a U.S. citizen.

Authorities said Chinchilla was uploading images from his residence in Northeast Washington. When authorities searched Chinchilla’s residence, they discovered handwritten notes listing websites for child pornography fans as well as illicit DVDs, CDs and computers containing child porn.

Chinchilla admitted to distributing and possessing the child pornography, authorities said.
