Man fatally hit while crossing the street in Fairfax County

A 60-year-old man was fatally struck while crossing the street in Fairfax County overnight.

Investigators say the victim was hit by an SUV while trying to cross Route 1 at Arlington Drive in Hybla Valley around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was not in a crosswalk, and later died at the hospital, police say.
The driver of the SUV remained on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
