SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - Police in Montgomery County are holding their annual police adventure camp.
The fourth-annual camp will be held at Viers Mill Elementary School in Silver Spring and is for incoming fourth, fifth and sixth graders. It starts Friday and then continues Monday through Thursday.
Besides sports, crafts and K-9, SWAT and fire/rescue demonstrations, campers will also learn skills on decision making and resisting peer pressure and avoiding drugs and alcohol.
The county police department partners with the county public school system and Linkages to Learning, which serves at risk-children and their families, in hosting the camp.
