June 28, 2011 - 06:45 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Newseum in Washington will offer free admission to visitors age 18 and under this summer.
The museum about journalism and the First Amendment announced Monday that it would waive its regular $12.95 admission fee for youth beginning Friday. The deal will run through Labor Day on Sept. 5.
WTOP Radio is sponsoring the "Summer Fun Deal" at the Newseum. The Newseum says it's meant to encourage families in D.C., Maryland and Virginia to visit the museum. Up to 10 children will be admitted free with each paid adult admission.
The Newseum is one of Washington's most expensive museums other times during the year. It charges $21.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors and $12.95 for youth.
