Police identify injured man in Silver Spring
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police have identified an injured man who was found unconscious in Silver Spring Sunday morning.
The man was identified as a 51-year-old Hispanic male through a fingerprint analysis. Police are not releasing his identity at this time to notify next of kin.
The circumstances that led to his injuries are still under investigation. The man is at a hospital and has not regained consciousness.
Police say officers found the man unconscious outside the Best Way Food Market in the 8500 block of Piney Branch Road at about 7 a.m. Sunday. The man had injures to his head, legs, back and arms.
Detectives believe he was injured after 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th and before 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 12th.
Authorities described the man as about 5'7" and 165 pounds. He has gray-black hair and is balding and has a light mustache and beard. He was initially thought to be in his mid-30s.
Detectives are still asking that anyone who may have information regarding the event(s) that may have led to his injuries contact the Montgomery County Police 3rd District Investigative Section at 301-565-5835.
