Wheaton barricade situation ends peacefully
Updated: June 23, 2011 - 06:58 am
A man has been arrested after refusing to leave a woman's home in Wheaton.
About 1 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 2200 block of Victor Court for a possible domestic situation.
Lieutenant Jacques Crooms says a 34-year-old man violated a protection order when he entered a 67-year-old woman’s home and refused to leave. Crooms says the man lives at the home, but was ordered by a judge to move out. Police believe the man is the woman’s son.
Several streets were shut down as a result of the investigation.
Police attempted to make contact with the suspect, but were unsuccessful. A SWAT team was called to the scene.
Around 5:30 a.m., the suspect was taken into the custody. Charges are pending. No injuries were reported.
No further details were immediately available.
