A Prince George's County firefighter is hospitalized Monday night after he fell through a hole in the partially collapsed floor of a burning house in Bowie.
Firefighters were called around 6:30 p.m. to a house in the 12600 block of Hillmeade Station Drive, where a 1 1/2 story single-family house was on fire.
The first floor of the house partially collapsed, the Prince George’s County fire department stated. The firefighter was injured when he fell through the hole in the floor.
Fire officials say the injured firefighter was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire officials said the house was vacant.
