Raymond Williams says he was high before killing art consultant, Azin Naimi
WASHINGTON (AP) - A Montgomery County man accused of killing a fine art consultant and disposing of her body in Washington has testified that drugs were to blame for his actions.
Raymond Williams said Wednesday he recalled smoking PCP and crack before stabbing 45-year-old Azin Naimi last July at the Montgomery County art studio where she worked.
According to The Washington Post, prosecutors contend that the 36-year-old Williams beat and choked Naimi, wrapped her body in a blanket and eventually dumped in an alley in Washington.
Defense attorneys and an expert witness have said Williams was too high to make reasonable decisions. Williams faces up to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder.
The trial is expected to conclude on Thursday and jury deliberations could begin in the afternoon.
