Rite Aid employee arrested for alleged inside job
Police are accusing an employee of a Dumfries Rite Aid of helping rob the store by posing as a victim.
Police arrested Keishana Joy Pittman, 23, of Dumfries, and charged her with robbery, abduction and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Authorities said Pittman and another employee reported that they were robbed while working at the store, located at 4424 Fortuna Center Plaza, on Wednesday. The unidentified suspect allegedly ordered Pittman to bind the hands of the other employee. They were then placed in a bathroom at the store.
Police said that the investigation showed that Pittman let the suspect into the store and had knowledge that the crime would be committed.
Police said they are still investigating Pittman’s relationship with the suspect.
