Thunderstorms knock out power to thousands in D.C. region

The storms knocked out power to thousands of people across the Washington region.
As of 11:45 a.m. Monday, Pepco was reporting about 300 customers without power on its website. About 250 of the outages were in Washington, and the rest were in Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland.
Baltimore Gas and Electric was reporting about five outages, mostly in Baltimore City and Harford County.
And Dominion Virginia Power says about 1,162 customers do not have power in the northern Virginia area.
This comes as our region cleans up after Sunday night’s storms caused widespread problems in the area.
In Vienna, a tree fell onto a house, badly damaging its roof. The family has tentatively sold the house, and planned to move to Idaho, but their plans have been put on hold for now.
In Prince William County, a tree clipped another family’s shed, and pulled down power lines.
