Signal Bay Waterpark chemical leak sends seven to hospital
June 11, 2011 - 03:03 pm
Seven people were taken to area hosptials after a chemical leak at a Manassas Park water park, officials say.
Officials say that lifeguards noticed a chemical smell coming from the water at about 1:30 on Saturday afternoon and noticed a yellow patch of water. The pool was immediately evacuated and everyone was checked.
Six swimmers were taken to the Prince William Hospital and one other swimmer went on their own.
The pool will be closed on Sunday and will reopen after a pool expert inspects the facilities chemical handling equipment.
