June 30, 2011 - 01:10 pm
STEVENSVILLE, Md. (AP) — A Queen Anne's County official says a pilot is safe after landing a single-engine plane in a creek.
Emergency Services spokesman Kevin Aftung says the plane had engine trouble after taking off from Bay Bridge Airport around noon on Thursday. He says the plane couldn't make it back to the airport and the pilot landed in nearby Broad Creek.
Aftung says the pilot, the only person aboard the plane, was able to walk ashore and he refused treatment from medics.
