June 29, 2011 - 09:12 am
A 74-year-old woman died Wednesday morning when her car hit a gas line and ignited while driving out of the underground garage at the Hilton Hotel in Ballston, police say.
Arlington Police say that Adele Lapinell of Annandale was the only person in the vehicle when her car drove into a corner wall of an underground parking garage at about 8:30 a.m. The car struck a barrier to a natural gas line, which ignited.
Preliminary details indicate that the accident was caused by a medical issue, police say.
