Suspect sought in Columbia bar assault, robbery (video)
A woman who assaulted and robbed a customer at a Columbia bar last month is still on the loose and Howard County Police are offering a cash reward to anyone who can help identify her.
In surveillance video released Tuesday, the suspect, identified as a 27-year-old woman, is shown striking a woman as she walked into the Second Chance Saloon in the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place about 2 a.m. on May 29. The suspect then beat the victim while on the ground and stole her purse.
The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries to her face.
Police do not believe the victim knew the suspect nor had any contact with her before the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 230 pounds, about 5’5”tall with dark brown hair that she wore in a ponytail. The suspect was wearing a short-sleeved yellow shirt and short black skirt or shorts.
Police are offering a $500 reward for information leading to her identity and arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the Stop Crime Tip Line at 410-313-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous.
