Teen arrested for New Carrollton slaying

A 17-year-old was arrested in connection with the May slaying of a 23-year-old in New Carrollton.
Savon Lee Blanchard turned himself in to authorities on Thursday. He is charged with second degree murder in connection with the slaying of Alusine Kargbo.
On May 31, police responded to the 8300 block of Quintana Street for reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they learned that the victim had been taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
