June 30, 2011 - 11:20 pm
Two underground cables in the area of 2nd and D Streets Northeast were apparently damaged by private contractors Thursday afternoon, Pepco said.
Customers in the areas of 119 D Street Northeast, 1515 F Northeast, and Morris Place and 7th Street Northeast are without power.
Work will continue through the night to make repairs, Pepco said. It expects the Morris Place and 7th Street customers to be restored overnight. The remaining customers are expected to see power restored by late tomorrow afternoon.
