Barricade situation in Allegany County
Maryland State Police are investigating a barricade situation in Allegany County.
Authorities say someone called 911 and reported hearing gun shots from a home in the 14,000 block of Spruce Street in Cresaptown around 11:30 p.m. Monday. Upon arrival, troopers approached the home but heard more gunshots coming from inside and called for backup.
Police say the suspect is believed to be a 36-year-old man who lives at the home with his father. It’s unclear if anyone else is inside the home, but police believe the man is alone. They are trying to make contact with him.
Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Natural Resources are assisting. The Maryland Special Tactical Assault Team, the Hostage Recovery Team and the Maryland State Police K-9 Unit are also on the scene.
