Cederick Lorenzo Shuler arrested for 1998/99 murders of Renee Best, Edward Gray
A Ft. Washington, Md., man was arrested Thursday for two murders dating back more than a decade, detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide branch stated.
The 35-year-old Cederick Lorenzo Shuler was charged with two counts of first degree murder while armed in the killings of Renee Best and Edward C. Gray.
Best was shot on February 22, 1998 in the 4600 block of Hillside Road Southeast. The shooting happened in the early evening hours of that Sunday, around 7 p.m. The 26-year-old died from her wound at the hospital.
More than a year later, 29 year-old Edward C. Gray died following a shooting and car collision. The car he was driving appeared to have been in a collision when police arrived in the 4800 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast, near G Street. They then realized Gray had also been shot. He as pronounced dead at the hospital.
