Charles Thomspon drowns after jumping off Orchard Beach Community Pier

Anne Arundel County Fire officials are continuing to investigate the drowning of a 46-year-old man in Pasadena, Md. Tuesday.
Authorities say that Charles Thompson of Brooklyn Park, Md. jumped off the Orchard Beach Community Pier at about 9:15 p.m., momentarily resurfaced, then went under.
A dive rescue team located Thompson just under an hour later. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play.
The drowning is currently being treated as an accident.
