Child care worker accused of sexual assaulting child, 4
Authorities arrested a local childcare worker and charged him with sexually assaulting a 4-year-old. The employee was fired from Chesterbrook Academy, the school said in a statement.
Police arrested Brad Minor, 23, of Leesburg, and charged him with one count forcible sodomy. Minor is an employee of the Chesterbrook Academy. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
“We are shocked and appalled about the charge against Brad Minor, who has now been terminated from our employment,” the academy said in a statement. It said Minor passed a criminal background check before he was hired.
The school said Minor had been placed on leave since authorities informed it of the assault charges in March.
However, the school also said Child Protective Services wrote the academy to say the case was closed and the claim unfounded, and Mr. Minor was reinstated at the time.
Police received a complaint on March 7 from a parent who was concerned about comments the child made. The comments sparked an investigation into the alleged assault.
“Three of the last four months we've been gathering evidence we came up with enough to charge this gentleman with forcible sodomy,” said Lt. Jeff Dube.
Administrators at Chesterbrook said they were saddened and very concerned following the arrest of one of their employees. They did not reveal what job Minor held at the school.
Parents we talked with today were angry and disgusted.
“I have kids of my own. I couldn't imagine what the parents are thinking and feeling. What was going through that person's head when he was doing this...it's sick,” said Heather Cady-Bragg.
“It's just shocking that someone could that to such a young innocent child,” said Jessica Dezzutti.
