Construction to start on Anacostia Freeway/ I-295

The D.C. Department of Transportation is conducting emergency bridge deck repairs along the Anacostia Freeway/ I-295.
Work will start on Wednesday and last through September 20, 2011, weather permitting, DDOT stated.
One lane on the bridge will be closed at a time while the remaining lanes will be open. Expect delays. Repairs will be performed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and again from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In addition to deck repairs, DDOT is also fixing overlays and conducting other bridge preservation activities.
