Metropolitan police shot a man with a shotgun in Northwest D.C. Thursday night. It happened shortly before 10 p.m. in the 5800 block of 13th St Northwest near the intersection of Missouri Avenue.
Assistant Chief Alfred Durham says officers were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a man firing a shotgun into the air. Arriving officers confronted the man, who then ran and dropped his weapon. Durham says the suspect then brandished a handgun and pointed it at officers, who then shot him multiple times. The suspect is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Durham says there was noone else involved in this incident, as previously reported.
Police have no motive at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
