Eddie Wayne Chewning, boyfriend of 17-year-old murder suspect arrested

Authorities arrested the 18-year-old boyfriend of the suspect arrested in connection with the July 5 slaying of a 62-year-old woman.
Stafford County Sheriff’s officers on Thursday arrested Eddie Wayne Chewning and charged him with one count of accessory before the fact in a first degree murder and one count of accessory before the fact in the use of a firearm.
He has been booked into Rappahannock jail.
He is being charged in connection with the slaying of Brenda Dye, who was allegedly shot to death by a 17-year-old female relative in the 700 block of Perry Drive.
The 17-year-old suspect is charged with first degree murder. Police haven’t identified her.
