July 20, 2011 - 07:11 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Special hours will be in effect later this week at the official vehicle inspection station in the District of Columbia.
The inspection station will open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday because of the extreme heat being forecast for the region.
The normal hours for the station are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Customers who have already scheduled appointments for after 12:45 p.m. on those days are asked to reschedule online.
DMV Director Lucinda Babers says the safety of employees and customers is a top priority.
