Fancy Food Show arrives in D.C.
July 11, 2011 - 06:17 pm
Thousands of buyers converged together with 2,400 exhibitors of specialty food items from 80 countries in D.C. in what is being dubbed the “fancy food show.”
The items displayed include a Harry Potter Deathly Hallows portrait made of 14,000 jelly beans and black water direct from a Canadian Spring, which is being hawked by Caroline and Jacqueline, real housewives of New Jersey.
The show filled two entire levels of the convention center with 180,000 products – almost all edible. There were even bbq ribs from Stubbs, whose grandkids from Austin, Texas were cooking up samples.
Normally, the show is in New York. But with the Javits Center there under construction, it’s in D.C. this year.
