Father stops attempted kidnapping of 2-year-old boy at Germantown Best Buy
A 2 year old boy is safe after his father rescued him from an attempted abduction.
The incident took place late Wednesday afternoon at the Germantown Best Buy on Frederick Road.
Authorities say the suspect, Jermaine Palmer, grabbed the two year old boy and ran for the door.
After witnessing the attempted abduction and chasing the suspect, Robert Eugene Cox III, 37, fought with him. With the aid of other citizens, he was able to subdue the suspect until police arrived and arrested.
The suspect was identified as Jermaine Laray Palmer, 23, of the 13600 block of Colgate Way. Palmer was arrested and charged with abduction of a child, first-degree assault, and six other counts. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
It happened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, at the the Best Buy at 20914 Frederick Road.
