Home invasion: Ashburn man assaulted as he answers knock at front door

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says that at about 4:15 a.m. the man heard a knock on the front door on Hiddengrove Court.
Thinking it was one of his friends, he opened the door and was immediately assaulted by at least two unknown men. He was struck with a blunt object and his home was ransacked.
The man was transported to the Lansdowne Campus of INOVA Loudoun Hospital where he was treated and released on Saturday.
LCSO investigators are working with the victim and are actively gathering evidence and pursuing leads in the case.
