I-295 closed at Pennsylvania Avenue due to road damage

UPDATE (11:00 a.m.): All lanes of northbound I-295 have reopened to traffic.
UPDATE (9:54 a.m.): DDOT says that the right lane of I-295 at Pennsylvania Avenue has reopened, but that the two other lanes remain closed at this time.
Road damage shuts down northbound I-295
The northbound lanes of I-295 are shut down at Pennsylvania Avenue due to what DDOT is calling "road damage."
John Lisle of DDOT says that a hole opened on a bridge deck. Crews will plate over the opening.
The bridge affected is one of five that crews have scheduled for repairs.
Traffic is currently being diverted off the freeway and onto Pennsylvania Avenue.
