\WASHINGTON (AP) - A man who was shot by U.S. Capitol Police officers after approaching them with a gun has been sentenced to more than a year in prison.

John Wesley Wheeler Jr. of Suitland, Md., was sentenced to 16 months in prison in U.S. District Court in Washington on Wednesday.
