July 1, 2011 - 12:09 pm
The man charged with shooting a local semi-pro football coach was due in court today.
Keonte Crawford, who stands accused of shooting Ralph Thomas to death outside McKinley Tech High School on June 4, was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Friday morning.
Thomas, who worked with the D.C. Falcons semi-pro team, reportedly argued with Crawford outside the school before Crawford pulled out a gun and started firing, witnesses say.
Crawford, 25 of Landover, allegedly sent Thomas numerous threatening e-mails in the days leading up to the shooting.
He is charged with first-degree murder.
