Man fatally struck in Germantown identified

Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident in Germantown.
Authorities say 20-year-old Dominique McFarlane-Chase, of Gaithersburg, was hit while crossing the southbound lanes of Germantown Road near Aircraft Drive shortly before 1 a.m. Monday. He died at Suburban Hospital.
Police say it’s unclear if the victim was in a crosswalk.
The driver of the striking vehicle, identified as Leonard Mensah, of Germantown, remained on the scene.
Police shut down a portion of the intersection for several hours, but it has since reopened.
Montgomery County’s accident reconstruction team is investigating.
