A 19-year-old Bristow man who reported he was shot during a robbery lied to authorities and instead shot himself, police said.
Police went to the 8900 block of Edmonston Drive in Bristow on Friday at about 4:30 a.m. for a reported robbery. The alleged victim told police that three men robbed him at gunpoint and then shot him in the leg during a struggle.
As the investigation continued, police determined the man shot himself, police said.
