WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro is unveiling a new bus line to help ease the anticipated traffic congestion when more than 6,000 government workers transfer to an office complex in northern Virginia next month.

The transit agency says it will start a Metrobus route between the Pentagon and the Mark Center complex on Aug. 8. The 7M line will run every 10 minutes during rush hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours.

Metro also plans to enhance other bus routes.

The government workers are moving from Crystal City to the Mark Center as part of the Base Realignment and Closure plan. Metro says the workers can ride some of the buses for free by showing their Mark Center identification card.
