Martin C. Savage, a 27-year-old former Landover resident, will also be obliged to register as a sex offender upon his release.

According to his plea agreement, an undercover Florida police officer was able to access a cache of child pornography that belonged to Savage on a file-sharing network in March of 2010.

A month later, Maryland authorities seized a computer and hard drive from Savage's residence that contained thousands of images. He admitted to agents that he had been downloading child porn for about three years.

Savage will be subject to 20 years of supervised release after his prison term is over.
