BALTIMORE (AP) — Health officials in Maryland have backed off a summer camp sunscreen policy that would have limited who could apply sunscreen to campers.

Health officials revised the policy on Friday. Under the old guidelines published June 10, camp staff were directed to limit touching campers. The policy also said that under no circumstances should campers help each other pun on sunscreen.

The Washington Post reports that the new policy only requires parents to give permission for their children to have sunscreen.
