WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro is introducing a one-day pass that features an image of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
The transit agency says the sale of the $9 one-day pass will coincide with next month's opening of the national memorial.
It will be valid for a day of unlimited Metrorail travel on weekdays after 9:30 a.m., all day on Saturdays and Sundays and some federal holidays. That includes unlimited Metrorail travel after 9:30 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Columbus Day and Veterans Day.
The pass expires at the end of the operating day.
The national memorial is open to the public on Aug. 22 with an official dedication ceremony planned for Aug. 28.
