NORAD intercepts plane near Camp David
Two F-15E fighters under the direction of North American Aerospace Defense Command intercepted a Cessna 210 general aviation aircraft in the vicinity of Camp David, Md., Saturday at approximately 6:56 p.m. EDT.
This was the second plane intercepted near Camp David today.
The civilian aircraft was intercepted and departed the Temporary Flight Restricted area and landed at the Carroll County Regional Airport where it was met by law enforcement.
NORAD intercepts plane near Camp David
CAMP DAVID, Md. (AP) - Two F-15 fighter jets have intercepted a small aircraft near Camp David in Maryland, where President Barack Obama is spending part of the weekend.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command says the civilian aircraft was out of radio communication just after noon on Saturday. Fighter jets intercepted the plane and directed it out of restricted airspace near Camp David.
The plane landed without incident.
A similar incident was reported last Saturday.
Obama is spending the night at the presidential retreat. He plans to head back to the White House on Sunday to continue work on a deficit plan with congressional budget negotiators.
