Man killed in Braddock Road crash identified
Updated: July 20, 2011 - 09:30 am
Police have identified a man killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax that left five others injured.
Authorities say 65-year-old Albert Spriggs, of Sterling, was driving a truck westbound on Braddock Road when it struck several vehicles traveling eastbound near Ox Road shortly before 2:30 a.m. Investigators say it’s unclear why the truck crossed the median and struck two vehicles before overturning. Three other vehicles were also involved in the crash.
Spriggs was pronounced dead at this scene. Five people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
